How to: Set Up MSR Devices
To set up an MSR device in LS Central
- Open the LS Hardware Station Management Portal in a browser (default location is localhost:8088) and log in.
- Expand the MSR Devices tab in the Device List, and click Create MSR.
- In the pop-up window, add a device ID for your device and select the MSR OPOS device driver that has previously been installed on the computer.
- Click Create device, and then select it from the device list and click Load.
- Open LS Central BackOffice, and open the Hardware Profile List.
- Select the Hardware profile that the MSR device should be added to.
- Click Manage - Edit, and on the Hardware Profile Card click the Detect Hardware action.
- The MSR device that was configured in previous steps is now attached to the Hardware profile.
Tip: Scroll down the Hardware Profile page to view the list.
To attach an existing MSR device to a Hardware Profile
- Go to the POS MSR List. Here you can see all MSR devices that have been detected by the LS Hardware Station or been manually added. All configurations that apply to the MSR device are available in this card.
- To attach an existing MSR device to a new Hardware Profile, go to the Hardware Profile Card, and make sure that the card is in edit mode before starting.
- Scroll down to the POS MSR Devices FastTab, and select the MSR Device ID from the list.
Note: The settings Start from Position, End at Position, and End at Char are only active, if the Use Non-Payment Track check box is selected, and if the MSR device is a keyboard device.
Note: If the Log track information check box is selected, the LS Hardware Station will log down the track information that is read from the MSR device into its log file. By default, the check box is not selected.
