Distribution Location Sample

In this sample LS Central is located in the cloud with no direct database access, so Data Director has to use LS Central Web Service to retrieve the data.

Head Office Location in the cloud using WS mode

POS Location using SQL Database mode

A dedicated host in the store runs DD Service and DD Web Service. The POS is offline and has its own DD Service.

Head Office Location in the cloud using WS mode

LS Central will send the job data via DD Web Service (WS Distribution Server) which then translates the job to standard DD Job Data package and forwards it to Data Director Service (Data Director). Data Director then connects to LS Central Web Service to pull or send data (Replication). Replication section has to have user name and password used to connect to the Central Web Service, and the URL to RetailWebServices.

Scheduler uses LS Central Web service functions (Web Server) to query Replication counters and Actions for Action jobs.

POS Location using SQL Database mode

POS is just using standard Database connection. To be able to test connection, DD Web Service has to be set (WS Distribution Server). It is not needed for Job processing if the location is only destination location.
