To add commands to the Dining Table Pop-up menus

You need to incorporate the following KDS Coursing commands into the POS menu structure:

KDS-COURSE-OVERV-SEN

This is the command to announce the order in the kitchen. This command should be placed in the Sales POS clearly visible to the waiting staff. When executed, the program creates a Coursing KOT, provided that there are items in the order marked with a menu course menu type.

This command is also used to announce changes to the order after the order has been announced in the kitchen.

If the Hospitality type is configured to Confirm Send to KDS, the Confirm panel opens when the command is executed, letting the user check the order and cancel, if there is something not correct.

The use of this command is required for KDS Coursing.

Note: You can send items that belong to a non-coursing menu type with the usual BOMMENTYPE command, even if you have KDS Coursing set up. For example, you can have drinks separately, send them to the kitchen with BOMMENTYPE and drinks menu type as parameter. They will belong to a normal KOT (see Display Stations) while the items with menu course menu types belong to the Coursing KOT.

KDS-COURSE-OVERV-COU

This is the command to open the Coursing Overview panel. This command can be placed in the Sales POS and also in the Dining Table Pop-up menu for an occupied table and an occupied-paid table.

This panel opens if there is a Coursing KOT associated with the selected transaction or dining table. In this panel, the user can fire and serve courses and mark other course tasks and dining table tasks as completed.

The use of this command is required.

KDS-COURSE-FIRENEXT

This is the command to fire "Next Course". The caption of the command's menu button is supplied by the program where Fire is the To Do Description of the Fire coursing task and "Next Course" is the name of the next course to be fired manually. If the caption is blank, there is no course to fire next.

This command can be placed in:

  • the Sales POS
  • the Dining Table Pop-up menu for an occupied table and an occupied-paid table
  • the Coursing Overview panel.

This command lets the waiting staff fire the next course in the Dining table view with two clicks only: click the dining table, click the Fire "Next Course".

In the Sales POS and the Coursing Overview panel, the waiting staff fires the next course with one click only.

The use of this command is optional.

KDS-COURSE-SERVENEXT

This is the command to serve "Next Course". The caption of the command's menu button is supplied by the program where Serve is the To Do Description of the Serve coursing task and "Next Course" is the name of the next course to be served. If the caption is blank, there is no course to serve next.

This command can be placed in:

  • the Sales POS
  • the Dining Table Pop-up menu for an occupied table and an occupied-paid table
  • the Coursing Overview panel.

This command lets the waiting staff serve the next course in the Dining table view with two clicks only: click the dining table, click the Serve "Next Course".

In the Sales POS and the Coursing Overview panel, the waiting staff serves the next course with one click only.

The use of this command is optional.
